EMERGING TURTLES

jim with sculpture 370x500

PROJECT: Emerging Turtles

A Public Art Project with Grade 5/6 students from Bonsanquet Public, Hillside, Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Grand Bend Public.

“We want to show the struggle of Ontario Turtles”

Organizers:
Ruth Anne Merner, Judy Gerber, Kelli Phillips and Jim Dawe.

Students learned about turtles and created their own turtle with clay during the 2024 Paint Ontario pottery station. Students were made aware of the impact public art can have and that if they join together they can make a larger statement. This beautiful sculpture is available to be on display in the community.  It will be spending time at both the Pinery Provincial Park and Lambton Heritage Museum over the spring and summer 2026.  Inquire if you would like to have it at your venue.

Why GBAC?

The Grand Bend Arts Centre is a non-profit organization run by a small board of directors focused on “inspiring creativity in the community”.

We look to be catalysts to bring classes and programs to the community as well as become involved in events aimed at youth and adults alike.

We are always looking for more volunteers and sponsorship to help us to continue to invest and grow our offerings.
